A Community Kindergarten is 100 per cent owned and managed by its community. Florence Kindergarten is a not-for profit organisation that relies heavily on the support of committee members, families and the support of our community.
Being a part of a community is important because it helps us connect with different people. We can learn from other people in our communities and create new friendships. As a community we can help each other and work to keep our kindy a safe and happy place .

At Florence Community Kindergarten we view children as individuals and social learners. Since 1955 we have been an integral part of children’s lives in the Margate area. We acknowledge that children come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique strengths, experiences and understandings about their world. We recognise the Gubbi Gubbi people as the traditional custodians of this land on which we learn and play. In the learning environment, play is valued as a significant means for learning and allows opportunities for children to co-create in our inclusive curriculum. Play can provide insights into children’s interests, skills, beliefs, joys, anxieties and frustrations. We believe everyone belongs at Florence Kindy.

Our educators will encourage your child to explore and investigate a range of materials and express their thinking, and emerging understandings in a variety of ways.
